Xbox codes (Microsoft gift cards) top up the balance of your Microsoft account, which is used to buy games and Game Pass. A code only works in the account's country: a Turkish code won't work on a US account. Xbox codes are sold by region with us, so check the country in your account settings before buying.
On an Xbox console
- Sign in to the account of the right region.
- Press the Xbox button and open Microsoft Store.
- Select "Redeem a code".
- Enter the 25-character code from your order and confirm.
On a Windows PC
Open the Microsoft Store app, click the profile icon and select "Redeem a code or gift card". In the Xbox app for PC, the same option is in the profile menu. You can also do it in a browser: on the Microsoft website, in the "Redeem a code" section, signed in to the same account.
Game Pass code
Subscription codes Game Pass are entered there as well. If your account already has an active subscription, the new period will be added to the current one. If the region of the code and the account don't match, activation will fail.
Errors
- “This code is not valid in your region.” The account country doesn't match the code. You can change a Microsoft account's country once every three months in profile settings, but the remaining balance is lost when you change it.
- "Code has already been used." Message us with your order number and we'll check with the supplier.
- The code is rejected without explanation. Check the keyboard layout and characters: Microsoft codes don't contain the letter O; a zero is used instead.
If you don't have a code, we'll top up the balance ourselves: “Xbox balance top-up to your account”. Xbox games can also be bought directly to your account in the section “Xbox Games”.
